Trusted Choice: What IIANC is Doing


FREE PSA Radio Tags: UNC, Duke & NC State

IIANC is continuing its efforts to educate North Carolinians on the dangers surrounding distracted driving. IIANC's goal is to increase awareness of the dangers of distracted driving, particularly texting while driving, in attempts to reduce the number of related auto accidents. Beginning in September, we’ll be launching an extensive seven month PSA campaign on the radio networks of NC’s three most prominent universities – Carolina, Duke and NC State. Your agency has the opportunity to participate by tagging the radio ads, at no cost!  

2017-18 Recap: Partnership with UNC Athletics

IIANC continued our partnership with the UNC Tar Heels for the 2017-18 season to promote Trusted Choice Independent Insurance Agents. Using the wide platform of Tar Heel Sports, we are able to reach over two million consumers with our messages. Our campaign featured two parts: consumer focused advertising using the Freedom Campaign ads and a public services awareness (PSA) campaign to educate the public on the dangers surrounding distracted driving. 

Radio Advertising

Our extensive radio advertising included at least two (2) :30 spots for Freedom Campaign commercials and a custom feature, The Trusted Choice of the Game, during UNC Football & Men's Basketball games and coaches' shows. In addition, the PSA campaign on distracted driving received at least two (2) additional :30 second radio spots during game broadcasts.  Each of these radio spots were tagged at the end with a local, participating member agency's information. If your agency is a member of IIANC, then you are eligible to participate in this great member-only program. These radio tags/ad spots are valued at approx. $2,500 for each participating agency but IIANC members pay nothing as an added member benefit. 

Game Day Advertising

Our partnership with UNC Athletics included numerous opportunities where we were able to increase the community's awareness of Trusted Choice independent insurance agents at live events. In addition to the LED signage that was prominently displayed during games at Kenan Stadium and the Smith Center, we also had a booth to interact with fans before some of the games to spread the message of independent agents, our successful fire safety program, Operation EDITH, and the dangers of distracted driving. 

Digital Advertising

With online media being the driving force in today's world, we added pre-roll commercials to ensure we're reaching a broad audience, too. broadcasts 15 second advertisements before videos published on their high-traffic website, in addition to rotating banner ads promoting the Trusted Choice Freedom campaign and our PSA campaign.

Print Advertising

Two full page ads ran in each game-day program for both football and men's basketball seasons promoting our PSA campaign message. 

Supporting Make-A-Wish

Trusted Choice has served as a national sponsor of Make-A-Wish since 2011, donating more than $1.5 million and granting 29 wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. IIANC has also been an active supporter of the Make-A-Wish chapters in North Carolina with Trusted Choice serving as sponsors of the annual Walk for Wishes events held around the state and granting wishes. The IIANC Young Agents Committee has also chosen to support Make-A-Wish with the funds raised at the Annual YAC Charity Golf Tournament, presented by title sponsor, Trusted Choice. Through the fundraising efforts of IIANC and the Young Agents Committee, Trusted Choice agents in North Carolina have raised over $80,000 for Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina and Make-A-Wish of Central & Western North Carolina.
