Description of Course

This course is designed to give agents a review of the essential elements of the COBRA laws which govern the continuation of health insurance benefits for employees. Included is a review of entities that must comply with COBRA; the "Qualifying Events" of COBRA and Employer's Compliance with the Act. Also covered will be notification requirements by employers; the time limits and extension of coverage; and penalties for non-compliance. This is an essential course if you deal with group health insurance accounts.
