Looking for a way to become engaged in your association, network with fellow agents and give back to your industry? If so, then serving on an IIANC committee is a great place to start! This is a great opportunity to provide input that will help guide the initiatives of IIANC. Working together to combine talents and ideas, we can build a stronger IIANC to benefit members and the independent agency system. The committee sign up period for the 2017-18 has now ended. 



Agency Management & Technology Committee

Monitor industry developments and recommend new products and procedures that may help agency members improve operating efficiency and customer service. The committee monitors advances and opportunities in the areas of technology and agency management to provide information to members via regular blog posts, articles, webinars, etc. 

Government Affairs Committee

Assists in the development of IIANC's legislative program and recommends it for approval to the Board of Directors in a complete and timely manner. Committee members are active in lobbying efforts including the IIABA National Legislative Conference and in the NC General Assembly.
**NEW** Also includes two sub-committees: 1.) NCJUA/NCIUA
- focused on related regulatory and legislative matters impacting IIANC members and 2.) PAC - IIANC PAC fundraising.

Membership Engagement Committee

Assists the IIANC staff in increasing association engagement among agency members. Committee members assist during the onboarding of new members through a welcome ambassador program and help to increase engagement with current members through outreach programs via phone calls, email, events, etc. 

Professional Development Committee

Offer suggestions for relevant, timely subject matter and instructors/speakers of interest to IIANC members for education courses/programs and conferences. Actively promotes IIANC’s professional development opportunities to help recruit attendees as needed. 

Technical Committee

Monitor all issues relating to insurance technical matters. May provide representation for IIANC members at public hearings on insurance to advocate the official position taken by the Board of Directors. Receives input from the membership on technical insurance matters, makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and keeps the membership informed of technical developments in the industry via blog posts, articles, webinars, etc. 

Young Agents Committee

Actively recruits the involvement of Young Agents in the affairs of the Association and works to develop leadership and networking in the Young Agent community. Assists staff in planning the Young Agents Development Conference by offering suggestions for relevant, timely subject matter and speakers of interest to Young Agents. Actively promotes Young Agent events through direct outreach to help recruit attendees. To serve, agents and PARTNER company reps must be under the age of 41 or have less than five years industry experience. 

Committee Info to Note:

  • Committee service is open to member agents or IIANC PARTNER company reps.
  • Committee sign up period is during the summer. Info is emailed to members and posted on IIANC social media channels and website.
  • Anyone currently serving on one of the above committees who would like to be reconsidered for the next year must submit his/her name again.
  • Meetings are usually held at the IIANC office in Cary and/or via GoToMeeting/conference call.
  • Committee members are expected to contribute annually to IIANC PAC to help protect your industry.
  • Signing up does not guarantee committee appointment as space on committee may be limited for efficiency and/or budget constraints.
