Commercial Lines New Business Marketer & Account Manager

Title: New Business Marketer – Commercial Lines

Reports to: Commercial Lines Manager

Summary: Experienced insurance professional focused on successfully placing new business with carrier partners. Responsible for complex transactions, and managaing the new business  process for both producer and non-producer clients in multiple offices.  Will also manage a book of small business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Input new business applications/submissions and set up of accounts
  • Market and rate new clients; prepare summary of insurance schedules, proposals, applications; send submissions to companies; follows up to ensure timely responses
  • Provide technical support to Producers (re: coverage, proposals, suspense items, etc)
  • Negotiate coverage terms and conditions with insurance carriers
  • Have detailed knowledge of carrier appetites for all commercial lines of business
  • Have expert knowledge of carrier rating systems and online tools
  • Informs and educates clients, producers, and other staff about coverage, exclusions and exposures
  • Document/maintains electronic files accurately and consistently, processes incoming requests and mail accurately and timely
  • Cross sell/up sell accounts
  • Follow agency procedures and adhere to company core values
  • Assist President and CL Manager with carrier relationships

    Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Manage book of small business to round and increase overall retention
  • Responds to clients’ needs by preparing binders, certificates, policies, endorsement and other related items accurately and on time
  • Assist with backlog transactions

    Education and Experience

  • Hold NC P&C insurance license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Continuing education including CISR designation
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Product Knowledge
