The IIANC Young Agents Reach Their Goal
of Raising $70,000 for Habitat for Humanity Project!
The Young Agents Committee of North Carolina (YANC) has embarked on a new journey. As many of you know, in March 2006 the YANC completed a project to raise over $54,000 for an endowment to provide scholarships for insurance majors at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Many students will benefit from this scholarship for many years to come. Having achieved this ambitious project, we decided to raise the bar for 2007-08.
The YANC decided to focus our next project on making the difference in a single family’s life. YANC will be partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County to build a house for a deserving family in Wake County.
The project has two phases: first, the YANC must raise $70,000 in order to cover the costs to build the house (done!); second, after the funds are raised we will donate our time and energy into actually building the house with the help of local contractors. The homeowner will build alongside the YANC, and Habitat Wake staff will provide training and oversight.
This is truly an ambitious and wonderful project that will positively impact the life of a North Carolina family. The YANC needs the support and participation of all the independent insurance agencies in North Carolina to make this project successful. We appreciate each independent insurance agency, company and individual that made a financial contribution to this outstanding cause and helped us reach our the $70,000 goal.
Now, that we have raised $70,000, our next step is to break ground and build the house in 2008. Click here for information on volunteering at the construction site. Thank you for your support of the Young Agents. We look forward to your support in our journey to make a difference!
