Diversity Scholarship
In an effort to demonstrate our commitment to the promotion of diversity, inclusion and racial justice, IIANC's Diversity Scholarship will offset the cost of pre-licensing, professional development, and other onboarding-related training needed to newly-hired racial minorities by IIANC member agencies. IIANC stands strongly against racism and injustice and we are committed to making positive, meaningful changes that will create more diversity within North Carolina's insurance community. The scholarship amount is $500 and will be awarded to agencies to offset incurred costs.

Diversity Internship
Could your agency use extra help to complete various projects and tasks but your staff just doesn’t have the time? Your agency could benefit exponentially from hosting a summer intern from a local HBCU (Historically Black College & University!)
1. How do I find an intern?
We’ve developed a great relationship with North Carolina Central University and they have identified many students who are interested and excited about interning with insurance agencies throughout the state! We will help to match you with the right intern for your agency.
2. What do I do with them?
We have
developed a guide that walks you step by step through a 10 week summer internship so that you can provide a learning experience that is beneficial to both the student and your agency. The guide can be customized for your specific agency but it takes all of the guesswork out of what projects, responsibilities and training should be part of the internship. Included in the guide are sample interview forms and evaluations, orientation schedules, intern assignments and more.
3. How do I fund a paid internship?
Thanks to funding from the IIANC Education Foundation, IIANC is offering a limited number of grants of up to $2,000 to assist IIANC member agencies in offering paid internships this year.
The deadline to apply for a 2022 grant is June 1.
