Status of IIANC Classes & Events

In light of the evolving risk presented by COVID-19 and at the urging of government and public health officials, IIANC has made the difficult decision to cancel some upcoming large events and suspend all classroom CE courses through August 31, 2020. The health and safety of our members, PARTNERS, students and communities is of utmost importance to IIANC.

Since InsurEXPO2020, scheduled for April 16-17, and the James K. Ruble Graduate Seminar, scheduled for April 21-24, were expected to have attendance of more than 100 people, they were cancelled at the urging and recommendation of NC Governor Roy Cooper, Director of the Center for Disease Control, the Director of the NC Division of Health and Human Services, and the World Health Organization.

To protect our classroom students and instructors, we are also suspending live courses scheduled through August 31 and will continue to monitor the situation to make well-informed decisions for classes scheduled beyond that date. View IIANC's options for online CE and training here.

The IIANC Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for May 7, 2020, has also been cancelled at this time; although we hope to reschedule the tournament later this year so we can continue to raise money for the Make-A-Wish chapters in North Carolina.

Future Classes
At this time, any in-person education classes scheduled for July 1 or later are still being held. However, we are continuing to monitor the situation and will adjust if necessary.  IIANC will be taking precautions at any of our future in-person classes to follow the recommendations from the CDC and NCDHHS, and request that attendees do the same, in order to help protect themselves and others from the spread of respiratory illnesses, which includes COVID-19.

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water, and for at least 20 seconds each time.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Do not reuse tissue after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched.  (IIANC will be providing hand sanitizer/cleansing wipes at future classes if available but attendees are also encouraged to bring their own if possible.)
  • Use the “elbow bump” as your new way of saying hello instead of a handshake.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and do not attend IIANC classes.
  • If you are in an at-risk group, please take extra precautions as needed.
