Distracted Driving Resources for IIANC Members

IIANC is excited to continue our partnership with the UNC Tar Heels to launch a
PSA campaign to educate the public on the dangers of distracted driving. These :30 second radio spots are conducted via Tar Heel Sports throughout the UNC Football and Men's Basketball seasons. Each of these radio ads urge members of the community to reach out to their local Trusted Choice independent insurance agent for more information about the dangers of distracted driving.

Should your agency receive a call from someone in your community asking about the dangers of distracted driving, we have created this resource page for you with helpful information about this scary problem.

Did you know that texting while driving takes your eyes off the road for an average of 5 seconds? At highway speeds, that’s like driving the length of an entire football field with your eyes closed. And when nearly 50% of teens and young adults admit to texting while driving, that fact becomes even more frightening. That’s why we're joining Trusted Choice independent insurance agents to urge you and your families to put down the phones when driving. Every day in the U.S., more than nine people are killed and 1,000 injured in crashes involving a distracted driver. Don’t let yourself or loved one be one of those statistics. No text is worth a life.

Content #3: Generic Theme
Getting behind the wheel of your car may seem like a commonplace event, but it could be the most dangerous thing you will do today. Every day in the U.S., more than nine people are killed and 1,000 injured in crashes involving a distracted driver. Although you can't control the actions of other motorists, you CAN control how you operate your vehicle. Increase your chances for a safe trip by following a few simple precautions. That’s why we're joining Trusted Choice independent insurance agents to urge you to avoid distractions while driving like texting, eating and changing the radio or navigation system. Remember, you can’t drive safely unless the task of driving has your full attention. Any non-driving activity you engage in is a potential distraction and increases your risk of crashing.
