Every October, we recognize Fire Protection Month by sharing educational resources focused on protecting our clients, their families and property. Check out more information for each year’s campaign below. As Independent Insurance Agents, we are committed to providing this protection both through insurance products and education.

As we all continue to remain safer at home, that means more cooking at home and new challenges related to safety. Kitchen fires are the leading cause of home fire occurrences, and unfortunately, one of the deadlier.

According to the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI), so far in 2020, 27% of fatal fires occurred in a place without a smoke alarm.
In 2019, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) estimated that more than $14.8 billion in property damage nationally was a result of fires.
According to the NFPA, in 2019, local fire departments responded to an estimated 1.3 million fires. That is a fire somewhere in the US every 24 seconds.
