*Success Guarantee Requirements
To qualify for the First-Time Pass Guarantee, learners must:
- Complete 100% of the self-paced exam preparation course.
- Achieve a score of 80% or higher on the course final exam.
- Take the North Carolina licensing exam within seven (7) days of successfully completing the self-paced course and final exam.
- Provide documentation of the unsuccessful exam attempt upon request.

Pre-Licensing Course: Available Online or In-Person
Work better with structured learning? IIANC offers two 40-hour Pre-Licensing course options giving you the benefit of a live, instructor-led class setting.The virtual class runs from Monday-Friday for two weeks (four hour sessions) or the in-person class runs Monday-Friday for one week (eight hour sessions) at the IIANC office in Cary, NC.
Pre-Licensing class components include:
- Online option is an interactive format so you can talk “live” to the instructor via the chat feature and the instructor responds to submitted questions as they cover the course material/topics.
- Hard copy course book that allows students to take notes and follow along with the material.
- An interactive study session is provided where students can all talk freely to ask questions and review the material at the end of the course.
- An additional online learning tool called the Exam Simulator is provided to all students which allows them to take practice quizzes. This is included in the cost of the course. A code is given out to students to access the study tool.

Scholarships Available
The IIANC Education Foundation offers scholarships to help qualified individuals launch a career in insurance by covering the cost of IIANC pre-licensing education. In addition, honorably discharged North Carolina veterans may be eligible for a full Veterans Licensing Scholarship, providing no-cost training to earn a North Carolina insurance license and begin a rewarding career in the industry.
