Andrew McElhannon

Executive Assistant, IIANC Cary, NC

Andrew McElhannon serves as Executive Assistant to IIANC CEO Aubie Knight, providing executive support, project coordination, communications, and organizational leadership for strategic initiatives across the association.

Andrew brings more than 30 years of experience spanning association management, communications, project management, marketing, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Before joining IIANC, he spent seven years with the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG), where he worked closely with member agencies throughout the state in member services, education, communications, meetings, and special projects.

Throughout his career, Andrew has enjoyed helping organizations improve operations, strengthen member engagement, and turn big ideas into successful initiatives. His passion for serving people, building relationships, and creating practical systems continues to guide his work every day at IIANC.

Outside the office, Andrew is the founder of Preppers Helping Preppers, an educational community focused on practical preparedness and resilience, and Association Project Management (APM), where he enjoys sharing ideas about member engagement, project leadership, and organizational success.

Andrew and his wife, Jinger, live in Georgia and enjoy spending time with family, traveling to the mountains whenever possible, and finding new ways to serve others through their personal and professional endeavors.

Fun Facts about Andrew:

  • He's a lifelong Disney enthusiast who loves exploring the history of Walt Disney and visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.
  • One of his favorite places to recharge is the Great Smoky Mountains - especially Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
  • He enjoys performing the occasional close-up magic trick (and usually keeps a few ready at a moment's notice!).
  • He's been a devoted Star Wars fan since childhood and still remembers seeing the original film during its first theatrical run.
  • Andrew plays trumpet, enjoys singing, and spends his creative time designing and building handcrafted woodcraft projects.
